Winner of the 2014 Tom Fairley Award for Editorial Excellence!

It’s Grace, award-winning freelance editor, editing and freelancing in Vancouver, Canada. Copyediting and proofreading are the main services I offer, with certification from Editors Canada in both. Errors and inconsistencies do not survive my laser eyes. I do other kinds of editing too—including perhaps the most satisfying of all, plain language editing.

So much experience, so much

I’ve been editing full-time since 2005 with little opportunity to fully relax and stare into space. I started in-house, editing books. Books: so much to learn about these beautiful objects requiring tremendous labour from a talented many, working together so closely and efficiently.

With all the projects I work on, the goal is perfection, to show them off on the coffee table. Not just the art book but also the divorce form with its PDF guide, the modules on risk management, and the handbook of MS Word tips for editors! Books will always be at the centre, but I’ve also worked on reports, court forms, course material, fact sheets, and online self-help guides. I learn fast, am technically inclined, and aim to make life easier for all the people I work with. And of course the loftier aim is to make the material easy to read, use, and understand.
